Overview

Winter can be a tough time of year in the Pacific Northwest with cold temperatures and snow, but the sky can still be an amazing sight to see! Winter astronomy does mean bundling up in more clothing, but also more observing time to see those winter galaxies and constellations. Those looking for a meteor shower will not be disappointed with the Quadrantids Meteor Shower and the plethora of objects to photograph and view

Meaning Behind The Name

The January Full Moon is often called the Wolf Moon. Other names include Old Moon, Ice Moon, and Snow Moon, although this name is usually attributed to the February Full Moon.
